Millard Lee Rice of Westminster, Maryland, passed away at home on June 11, just shy of his 100th birthday. A brilliant scientist, executive, environmentalist, and philanthropist, Lee’s career spanned rocket science to corporate leadership and environmental innovation. He held patents, led major corporations, and was deeply committed to education, notably supporting McDaniel College. Lee was also a gardener, photographer, artist, and WWII Navy veteran. Known for his humility, kindness, and intellectual curiosity, he enriched all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Joan, four children, a stepson, ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. His legacy of service and wisdom endures.
