What is one lesson you’ve learned as a woman in healthcare that you wish you knew earlier in your career?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that when someone tells you something is hard, that doesn’t mean you should be intimidated by it. It just means you may need support or a different approach. I’ve learned not to be afraid to ask for help. You don’t know what you don’t know, and there’s so much value in being willing to learn from the people around you.
How have other women helped shape your career, and why is it important for women to support one another professionally?
Other women have taught me how valuable it is to have people who are willing to share their knowledge, encourage you, and remind you of what you’re capable of. I think it’s so important for women to lift each other up rather than feel like we have to compete. We all have different experiences and strengths, and when we share those with each other, we make the entire profession stronger.
