Paul Joseph McLaughlin, Sr., 84, of Roanoke, VA, formerly of Lynn, MA, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. Born in Lynn, he earned a physics degree from UMass Lowell at 19 and a master’s in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech. Paul worked 40 years with General Electric, where he met his beloved wife, Mary Jane “Kelly” McLaughlin. A devoted husband, father, and volunteer, he dedicated retirement to teaching, community service, and visiting the sick with his dog Heidi Ho. Paul is survived by Kelly, son Brian, and daughter Heather, and preceded in death by son Paul Jr., brothers Jimmy and Jack, and his parents.
