Ronald “Ron” Melvin Schmidt, 83, of Westminster, passed away on January 16, 2026, at Carroll Hospital Center. Born November 6, 1942, in Port Pleasant, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Melvin and Thelma (Groshon) Schmidt. Ron was the proud owner of R.M. Schmidt Heating and Air and remained actively involved until his passing. He enjoyed poker with friends, storytelling, and time at Piney Branch Golf Course. Ron is survived by his wife, Debbie; children Michael and Stacy; grandchildren Sophie, Eliza, and Grafton; great-grandchildren Michael and Frances; and many loved family members and friends.
