Shirley Julia Pickett, née Gudan, 90, of Sykesville, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Born July 1, 1935, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Edward John Gudan Sr. and Selma Anne Gutcher and the beloved wife of the late Richard Bauman Pickett. A devoted homemaker, Shirley enjoyed cooking, decorating, bowling, playing cards, and her cat, Buttons. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and a dedicated volunteer at Carroll Hospital gift shops. Shirley is survived by her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, dear friends, and extended family.
