Sister Kathleen Shannon, age 70, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, in Emmitsburg, Maryland, while serving at Saint Agnes House in Baltimore. Born in 1955 in Baltimore, she joined the Daughters of Charity in 1976. A dedicated educator and administrator, she taught mathematics for 13 years before transitioning to leadership and healthcare ministry roles. She held advanced degrees in education and finance and served in schools, hospitals, and parishes across several states. A gifted writer and artist, Sister Kathleen deeply valued creation and justice. She faced her final illness, lymphoma, with courage, grace, and unwavering faith in God.
