Sterling Grant Smith, Sr., 90, of Frederick, MD, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026. Born February 13, 1935, in Tyrone, MD, he was the son of the late Charlie Dennis and Mabel Savannah Smith and predeceased by his wife, Ina Roberta Smith. Sterling was a skilled home builder and remodeler before working as a security guard at Black & Decker and United Healthcare. He loved the outdoors, bowling, fishing, hunting, gardening, and baseball. Sterling is survived by his children Sterling Jr. and Deborah, grandchildren Khalie, Jeremiah, and Miranda, step-grandson Brandon, and sister Bertha Williams.
