Thurman “Butch” Redman Strickland Jr., 78, of Taneytown, MD, passed away on October 12, 2025. Born in Baltimore, he was a Vietnam veteran who served in the 101st Airborne Division and the Army National Guard Reserves. He worked for Black & Decker and as a cook at Springfield State Hospital, also volunteering at Camp West Mar. A skilled bowler, he also enjoyed billiards and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cheryl, and three sisters. A funeral service will be held on October 25, 2025, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown. Interment will follow later.
