The Carroll County Division of Aging & Disabilities will offer a free virtual “Living Healthy, Living Well with Chronic Conditions” workshop beginning March 5.
The Chronic Conditions Self-Management workshop is a series of sessions for adults of all ages who have ongoing health problems such as arthritis, high blood pressure, depression, cancer or heart disease, or who live with someone who does.
Originally developed at Stanford University, the Living Healthy, Living Well workshops are part of an evidence-based self-management program designed to help participants better manage their health and chronic conditions. The program complements care provided by health care professionals.
The workshop includes six virtual sessions held Thursdays from March 5 through April 9, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
Participants will learn practical strategies to manage symptoms, set weekly action plans and build confidence in making healthy lifestyle choices. Sessions also provide opportunities for participants to share experiences and support one another.
The program is offered virtually at no cost for Carroll County residents age 60 and older. A small fee applies for participants age 59 and younger.
Registration is required and can be completed online. For more information, residents may contact Amanda Coshun at 410-386-3800 or email LivingHealthy@carrollcountymd.gov.
