William P. “Bill” Banes, 70, of Sykesville, passed away on March 27, 2026, at BridgingLife’s Dove House in Westminster. Born September 4, 1955, in Baltimore County, he was the son of the late Philip and Lois Banes. A graduate of South Carroll High School, Bill worked as a welder and fabricator and later owned his own business, known for his skill, independence, and analytical nature. He enjoyed antiques, photography, birdwatching, camping, and motorcycles. He is fondly remembered by close friends Beverly Rouse and Robert Hartman and will be missed by all who knew him.
