Richard D. Eckard, 76, of Taneytown, passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2025. Born July 24, 1949, he was the son of the late Donald and Genevieve Eckard. He shared 58 devoted years with his beloved wife, Deborah, in a love story reminiscent of The Notebook. Richard was a dedicated truck driver, a skilled mechanic, and always willing to help family and friends. He especially loved teaching his grandsons. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. He was predeceased by his grandson, Paul Roberts, Jr. Richard will be remembered for his love, generosity, and wisdom.
