John William Norwood, 90, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, passed away on May 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband to Mary Elizabeth Norwood for 59 years, John was a proud United States Army veteran, skilled carpenter, and dedicated public servant who later worked for the Department of Energy. He faithfully served as a Deacon at Mt. Airy Full Gospel and was active in the Mt. Airy Lions Club and Fire Department Auxiliary. Known for his strong faith, hardworking spirit, and love of motorcycles, John touched many lives throughout his community. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, sister, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
