How has the Covid-19 pandemic changed your outlook on small businesses? 

The Covid-19 pandemic has basically exposed what we have known all along: businesses or organizations that are highly leveraged are at a greater risk of failure. Debt is not something that we want to have long term. The other issue with the pandemic is all businesses must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, both from an economic and tax standpoint. Many changes in the human resources and tax area have occurred in the last five months and many more changes are imminent. Be prepared, be efficient and be profitable. 

What are you doing differently now to advise your small business clients? 

I would not say we are doing anything different, we are just being more focused on the short term and trying to get clients much more efficient and timelier with the accounting processes in order to make necessary adjustments in how they do business. With better and more accurate financial information, we can make informed decisions and take advantage of opportunities as they become available.  The economic climate is in a constant state of change and businesses need to adapt and adjust quickly. We use technology (both existing and emerging) to provide our clients with the best possible information and exceptional advice. Blair Digital CPA has provided accounting, tax, and business advisory services to our clients since 1994 but now these services are more important than ever.
