Carroll County residents interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing can apply for a free five-day workforce training program scheduled for Nov. 16-20.
The Manufacturing Skills for Success Boot Camp will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day at Carroll County Workforce Development, 224 N. Center St. in Westminster. Applications must be submitted by Friday, Nov. 6.
Delivered by the Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership (Maryland MEP), the program is designed for individuals entering the manufacturing industry, transitioning to a new career or developing skills to pursue additional employment opportunities.
Participants will receive hands-on instruction in manufacturing fundamentals, workplace safety, quality control and professional development. The program also includes OSHA 10 General Industry Safety Training and certification.
Following successful completion, Maryland MEP works to connect graduates with manufacturing employers across the state that are actively hiring.
“The Manufacturing Skills for Success Boot Camp is an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain the skills and confidence needed to begin a rewarding career in manufacturing,” said Denise Beaver, director of Carroll County Economic Development.
“By partnering with Maryland MEP and Carroll County Workforce Development, we are helping residents access high-quality training at no cost while supporting the workforce needs of Carroll County manufacturers,” Beaver said. “Programs like this strengthen our local talent pipeline and create opportunities for both job seekers and employers.”
The program is intended to benefit both job seekers and local manufacturers by helping prepare candidates with in-demand skills and industry-recognized credentials.
