What advice would you give for women looking to either grow a business or grow within a company?
As young women professionals, the most important thing to remember is that you will never stop learning and growing. There is always something new to absorb, gain expertise on or develop skills in – if it feels “scary” you’re probably doing it right.
Finding an organization that promotes learning, teaching, and career growth, and that allows you to push past your comfort zone, is pivotal to long term success. Likewise, it is crucial to find a professional environment and perhaps more importantly, a female mentor(s) that allow you to make mistakes and provide constructive feedback but who can also celebrate your successes.
Having strong leadership and role models both at home and in the workplace makes the difference. Being able to learn from fellow female professionals with demanding personal lives, who can still come to work and handle difficult situations and support you with grace and a positive attitude makes a huge difference in the confidence you have on a daily basis in all your endeavors.
