Steven Pearson Gallery Reception at Carroll Community College
Steven Pearson is the Joan Develin Coley Endowed Chair in Creative Expression and the Arts at McDaniel College, where he has been a professor since 2004. Originally from Johnstown, NY, Steven served honorably in the Navy and then went on to receive his AA in Fine Art from Fulton-Montgomery Community College, his B.S. in Studio Art from The College of Saint Rose, and his M.F.A. in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
This powerful new body of work represents the creative efforts of a recent sabbatical and a focused return to Pearson’s earlier roots in narrative figuration following almost two decades of exploring abstraction and non-objective painting. Order, structure and careful observation of the places he inhabits remain paramount to his artistic practice in any style, echoing his early experiences in the Navy. You may view Steven Pearson’s work online at srpearson.com. Exhibit runs 9/11-12/6
