George Washington Owings III “Buck,” of New Windsor, passed away peacefully August 23, 2026, at age 82. He was a beloved husband, brother, stepfather, step-grandfather, uncle and friend, remembered as the family’s leader and favorite comedian. An avid sportsman, Buck especially enjoyed hunting with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Owings; brother Richard “Dick” Owings; sisters Kitty Miller and Martha Robertson; and stepson Stephen Reaver. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, stepchildren and grandchildren, siblings Ruth, Bob, Carl and Harry, and numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
