Helen C. Schmitt, of Westminster, passed away July 28, 2026, at the age of 84. Born in New Britain, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Frances (Kopera) Ciepiel. A graduate of Nathan Hale-Ray High School and Becker College, she dedicated 32 years to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, retiring as a budget analyst. Known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and love of travel, cooking, and lifelong friendships, Helen cherished time with her family. She is survived by her four children, brother, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends.
