Mary Frances Gosnell, 88, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, passed away Friday, September 4, 2026. A lifelong community advocate, she enjoyed a distinguished 40-plus-year career with Farmers and Mechanics National Bank, rising from file clerk to vice president and becoming its first woman branch manager. She dedicated decades to Howard Chapel United Methodist Church and the Damascus Lions Club, helping establish its scholarship program and leading holiday giving efforts for local families. Her service earned numerous honors, including the Lions International President’s Award. She also founded the Frederick Hearing Loss Association and supported hearing research. Mary Frances was known for her generosity, gardening, cooking, and devotion to family.
