William Elbert Stephens, born March 7, 1932, in Russell County, Virginia, passed away on May 16, 2026. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, minister, and man of faith, William lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and service to God. He shared more than 71 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Martha Ruth Stephens, who preceded him in death in 2025. William worked many trades throughout his life, retiring from General Electric as a Tool & Die Set Up man. Ordained into the ministry in 1972, he faithfully served as pastor of Old Carroll Primitive Baptist Church for over 27 years. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will cherish his wisdom, faith, and loving spirit.
