Frances H. Pretty, 91, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2026, surrounded by family. Born in Clintonville, West Virginia, she was the beloved wife of the late Robert S. Pretty and a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Frances dedicated 27 years to Maryland Public Television and later co-owned the Freedom Spirit Shoppe with her husband. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at age 60 and became the first female president of the Selbyville Lions Club. Known for her strength, generosity, and outgoing spirit, Frances cherished family, civic service, bird watching, antiquing, and cheering on the Baltimore Ravens.
