Caroline R. Sherman, Ph.D., has been appointed as McDaniel College’s new provost following a national search. She brings extensive experience in higher education leadership and academic administration, most recently serving on the senior leadership team at The Catholic University of America as vice provost for academic administration and dean of graduate studies.

In that role, she oversaw key academic operations and supported graduate education initiatives across the institution. Sherman will officially join McDaniel College on July 1, where she is expected to play a central role in advancing the college’s academic mission, supporting faculty, and strengthening institutional effectiveness across academic programs.
