Coman Howard Rogers, known as “Mr. C” or “C-man,” passed away peacefully at age 91 after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, and was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Thelma M. Rogers. Coman retired as Chief of Police at Springfield Hospital Center and later worked as a school bus driver well into his 80s. He was also co-owner of Ya Ya’s Restaurant, where he was known for his cooking and warmth. He loved cars, sports, and his family, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love.
