John R. Bauer, born July 9, 1941, in Baltimore, MD, passed away on June 4, 2026, at BridgingLife’s Hospice at Sinai. He was the beloved husband of Carolyn Beyerle-Bauer and the son of the late Earl W. Bauer and Bessie R. Bauer. John was a devoted father to Lorie Abernathy and her husband David, and family remained central to his life throughout his years. He is survived by his brother Frederick Bauer and several nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth Jr. and George. John will be remembered for his love of gardening, boating, fishing, and crabbing, and for the joy he found in time spent outdoors with loved ones.
