Shirley Faye Cook Bracey passed away at home on April 13, 2026, following a lengthy illness. Born January 11, 1945, in Sykesville, MD, she was the ninth of eleven children of the late Edward L. Cook and Mary Eugenia Chase Cook. Known for her humor and wit, Shirley worked at Northwest Hospital, Springfield Hospital, and other private businesses during her career. She was a devoted member of the East Eldersburg Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was preceded in death by several siblings and is survived by her husband of 49 years, Terry Bracey, her children, siblings, grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. Shirley will be remembered for her faith, personality, and love for her family.
